Usually, MAC football teams that get to the state football title games do very well.
But this past weekend in northeastern Ohio, gridiron matinees did not end up well for the conference.
First, Coldwater fell 55-25 to repeat champion Youngstown Ursuline in Division V.
Then on Saturday, in a more unexpected result, Delphos St. John’s fell 24-21 in the final seconds to Norwalk St. Paul in Division VO.
A brilliant 2009 football season notwithstanding, the MAC is left with three state team titles in the fall campaign, Minster boys golf, Minster girls cross country and Marion Local girls volleyball.
And, oh yes, Versailles sophomore Tammy Berger was an individual state champion in girls cross country as well.

Local attorney David Rohrer has been suspended from practicing law for six months by the Ohio Supreme Court for violating five Rules of Professional Conduct, rules which the American Bar Association has put in place to regulate the action of its members.
The original complaint stemmed from releasing information to the media (and a series of other events) in the 2007 trial of a 10-year-old boy that was charged with one count of aggravated arson and five counts of murder involving a fire in his home on Montgomery Street on Sept. 16, 2007 that killed his mother, sister and three other children.
Roher said that he did what he did because he felt it was the only way to get justice for the 10-year-old boy.
