The older I get, the more difficult it is for me to get in the mood to drive to work on these wintry road conditions. I’m so afraid that I’ll get stranded, and have no way to get help.
I’ve driven in white-outs and I’ve driven in an ice storm and, believe me, they’re not fun. I was just going home in Ansonia from work, and I was never so glad to see my little town before in all my life. My knuckles could attest to that.
Whenever visibility is a problem, I just try to stay between utility poles and pray that another vehicle is not coming at me.
I love my job, but I have to get home now to my son with some of his health issues.
So, if you see an Oldsmobile creeping along, just pass me by if you have to. I’m taking my time, no matter who makes fun of me.
I hope everyone else does the same.

Both the Greenville varsity girls and boys basketball teams play on this New Year’s Week Tuesday.
The girls look for a second win at home Tuesday afternoon against Oakwood, while the boys face Bryan at 6 p.m. at Celina, seeking a first victory.
Wins for both would be a huge boost, and the girls need to continue the momentum for visiting Versailles coming in Wednesday night.
Go Wave!

Look at that! It's gorgeous out there. Go on, take a walk. I'll wait.
As the new guy, I get sent out to do all sorts of things, which I’m fine with. Fortunately, no one’s told me to get their drycleaning or anything (yet), so that mostly means driving out to flaming barns and what-have-you.
Yesterday, I went out to Shawnee Prairie to take pictures of the snow. It was a great 15 minutes. They’ve got log cabins out there, and I was the first human to disturb the snow since it fell (there were rabbit tracks all over, zig-zagging everywhere), and I felt bad that was clomping all over and messing up the pristine cleanness that you only get after a fresh snowfall. It was gorgeous.
If you can, head on out there. They’d love to have you, and the view is worth the trip.

Like it or not, Obama’s healthcare plan is not going away anytime soon. In fact, it may just become a way of life for us poor Americans. I myself have given up on our country doing what is best. It is scary how far gone our mainstream media and government have become. Sure I want people less fortunate to be able to afford health insurance, but this is not what capitalism is built upon. I don’t know, maybe Americans want to be controlled by government, maybe we have become the “lazy” – “unmotivated” country that the world believes we are.
I do know one thing…this is not what our founding fathers wanted us to be!
In case you want to know the facts fed to us about this socialist..i mean national healtcare reform, here ya go: http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/
